THE DEVOTIONAL This month's devotional comes with a whirlpool of emotions and joy as we embrace change for the better in America. Congratulations to President Barack Obama, the first african-american president of the United States of America. He that hath an ear, let him hear what the spirit is saying to the churches. We cannot miss the dynamic of what faith has revealed: God has not manifested a racial transfer of power. God has manifested a generational transfer of power. There are some instances in the holy word were God trusted men to pass the mantle to the next generation with a plan and a future for direction for tomorrow. (Joshua and Caleb, Elijah and Elisha) On the other hand, there were times when God had to take the mantle from a generation and give it to the next generation. (Saul and David) Regardless of oppression, hatred, racism, sexism, or economic separation of classes, isn't it good to know that we serve a God that will always place the mantle in the hands of whom he desires.
